About

Why iDirect?

Helping customers to move out of institutional settings like care homes and long stay hospitals. We help individuals live in their own homes.

People we employ work only with 2-3 customers at anytime and are relatively well paid.

There are no external shareholders to satisfy. Our priority is our excellent service to customers and taking care of people who work with us.

We are part of Citizen network – which promotes everyone as equal citizens. For us, our customers are ordinary citizens first not just people receiving a service.

What we do?

iDirect helps people with a learning disability and/or mental health conditions to be able to live with support in their own homes.

Technically speaking this involves supporting people with mild, moderate, severe and profound learning disability and various mental health conditions.

Most of our customers live in and around West Hampshire and Dorset, including Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

How we do it?

We operate from two office locations: one in West Dorset and the other in East Dorset enabling us to cover most areas in West Hampshire and Dorset, including Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

We recruit for individual customers through bespoke job adverts so that staff and customer get along well.

For us, every customer we support is unique and wants to live their lives in a certain way, like any of us.

Typically, our service is accessed in the following ways:

  • The local council or health authority commissions us to work with our customer to help them. They pay us to do this.
  • Customers ( through their families or other organisations) manage their own care monies and commission us directly to provide them support. This is called Direct Payments.
  • Customers ask us to manage their care monies and provide their support flexibly. This is called Individual Service Funds.
